Chapter XVI- Building regulations, Section 345- Power of Commissioner to require alteration of work

If a construction work violates any bye law or provision of this Act, the Commissioner may order the person concerned to-

  1. Make alterations to the work to ensure that it adheres to the byelaws and the provisions of this Act.
  2. State why he has not made the required alterations within a specified time period.

If a person does not show cause challenging the Commissioner’s order, he is bound to make the alterations. If he does show cause, the Commissioner may cancel his order.
