Chapter XVI- Building regulations, Section 346- Completion certificates

Every person who, after having employed a licensed architect or engineer, any other person approved by the Commissioner and completed the building construction in accordance with the bye laws, is liable to notify the Commissioner within one month of the completion of construction. He must also send a certificate given in the bye laws, along with the notice, to the Commissioner.

No person may occupy the building until the Commissioner grants permission.

The Commissioner must grant permission within 30 days from the date on which he receives the notice and certificate. If he does not grant it within 30 days and does not communicate it to the person concerned the reasons for his refusal, the permission shall be deemed to have been given.
