Obtaining an Occupancy Certificate


  • You (the builder) may erect and occupy a building only if you possess an occupancy certificate.
  • If you had submitted an application for an occupancy certificate to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Noida Authority, and he did not sanction or reject it or respond with his objection within 90 days of you submitting the application, your application shall be deemed to have been sanctioned.
  • If the CEO responds to your application with his objections ¬†within 90 days of having received the application, you must ensure that those are addressed and the construction altered within 6 months from the date of receipt of the objections. Otherwise, the CEO is entitled to raze the unauthorised construction, and charge you a fee for it. Your application will also stand rejected. Furthermore, you will have to reapply for a fresh occupancy certificate.
  • In the case of multi-storeyed buildings, you (the builder) must submit your occupancy certificate application along with the clearance you receive from the Chief Fire Officer after he comes to inspect the construction once you complete constructing it.

Can you obtain an Occupancy Certificate online in Uttar Pradesh?

At present, it is not possible to apply for and apply for an occupancy certificate online in any city in Uttar Pradesh. You must apply for it in person to the Noida Authority.
